Other things taught in the class were new to me. Some I didn't really find useful (pikograph and paddlet) but others I found that I liked (popplet and games). My goal for next semester is to include more of those things in my lessons. It'll be difficult, especially because we don't have the best computers at my school, but it will be worth it if the students learn better.
The most exciting thing for me was using the QR codes. That is something I'm going to add to more lessons in the future. It's a great way for students to use their devices plus it allows me to embed videos into notes and activities that are conceptually difficult for students to understand. It's something I definitely plan to use in the future.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the QR codes when I was writing my initial comments. I did not really understand what they were before taking this class. And, I am noticing them more and more around. I also saw a colleague that uses them to post her weekly homework assignments. She puts her code for each class on her front door every Monday. I think that is a great idea! It's also a great way to introduce "flipping" videos.
